Houston-based Lodestar Logistics Corporation announced today Lodestar President, Brad Howell, has been appointed as Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership Freight Rail Operations Committee. This Committee works closely with the Gulf Coast Freight Rail District to advocate for short and long range freight rail system improvements and determines mechanisms for funding those projects. The Freight Rail Operations Committee continues the Partnership's efforts with rail companies to gain more competitive and improved rail service for Houston Industries and the Port of Houston and monitor freight rail service performance.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Howell stated "The Gulf Coast's rail system is both complex and vital to Houston's economic health. We need a more robust system with the appropriate infrastructure to ensure our continued economic expansion. Our efforts must address the needs of rail carriers, rail users, and the citizens of Houston. I look forward to working with the Gulf Coast Freight Rail District to bring these vital rail improvements to fruition."
